Boisdale’s Cigar Terrace
Top mark’s must go to Ranald Macdonald, tireless campaigner against the smoking ban and owner of the Boisdale group of restaurants, for creating a London’s finest outdoor cigar terrace.
You’ll find it on the first floor of the original Boisdale Restaurant at 15 Eccleston Street in Belgravia (just round the corner from Victoria Coach Station).

Perched amongst the rooftops and chimney stacks it has seating for 35 under glowing heaters. And, if it turns really chilly, you can borrow a tartan rug to keep out the drafts. It’s rather like being in a Scottish country house, which is appropriate because everything at Boisdale’s has a Scottish accent from the pure Aberdeen Angus steaks to the haggis and the unrivalled range of whiskies.
It is advisable to call first to book a place on the terrace: Tel 020 7730 6922.
