Review of Limited Editions

printable page

What were peoples best and worst Limited Editions of all time? I think we can include Regional Editions too. It would be good to hear your thoughts on this one so please post an opinion.

Cheers,

Jimmy

I just finally smoked my first EL2009!

Toward the very end of last year, I snagged a box of EL09 Bolivars, EL09 Upmanns and EL09 Romeos.

The box code on the Dukes was from June, and I've been aging them since I got them in... I just broke it open yesterday (8 months of age).

I'll certainly lay them down for a bit longer, but I wanted to try one now.

I must say that the Duke was truly fantastic... the best EL I've tasted from Havana in a long time, and that's without a ton of age yet... so I can't wait to see what happens to the flavor profile over time!

I loved the original Cohiba Piramides, the D3, the Ramon Allones Belicosos and the Por Larranaga Magnifico. Not so keen on the Trinidad Ingenios or the two R&J Hermosos's.

Overall, the LE get me more excited than the RE's because of the age of the tobacco. I would love to see Hoyo do a Siglo VI size cigar... YUM!

I agree with the Panda on this one. Although Cohiba Sublime rather than the Montecristo.

Also, the D2 was a favourite as was the 2000 Monticristo Robusto.

I have to say that I have been smoking a tremendous amount of the ERDM Choix De L'epoque at the moment. A great little cigar.

Hi everyone,

I'm enjoying the EL H.Upmann Mag 48's and the RyJ Dukes . Great smokes, too bad that the 48's are soooo short.

Hi Laficion,
What French Regional Editions have you enjoyed? You may provide some inspiration for your cousins on the other side of the Channel...

Best France regional was the bolivar libertador, both sizes...amazing cigars. This is what bolivar is meant to taste like. Power and flavours:)

I bought a box of 25 Romeo Y Julieta limited edition aged (1998) Prince of Wales cigars from JJ Fox last year and enjoyed every one. Very enjoyable smooth smoke. Regretably they don't appear to stock them anymore.
