We are delighted to invite you to an evening of Cigar and Rum tasting in the courtyard of the Bluebird Restaurant in Chelsea, London, on the evening of Monday 20th July.
A rum cocktail will greet you on arrival before a total of Four different rums will be available to taste along with a cigar, the Partagas Serie P No. 2, to be presented by Simon Chase of Hunters & Frankau.
Light snacks will be served throughout and Galler chocolate will be paired with the rums. Armando Risoto, the Cigar Roller from the Partagas factory in Havana who is currently doing a short tour of the UK, will be demonstrating his rolling skills at the event.
The four rums to accompany the Cigar include:
- Chairman’ Reserve - St Lucia - This rum is a blend of double distilled pot still and continuous still rums. The pot still richness comes through on the nose along with juicy fruits and a hint of honey. The palate is medium bodied with a soft feel, a hint of vanilla and spices.
- Elements 8 Gold – St Lucia - A new rum brand of excellent quality which has a honeyed sweetness and dark, dried fruit flavour. Produced by the Elements 8 Rum Company Ltd using St Lucian rum and aged for 6 years in Buffalo Trace bourbon barrels.
- Trois Rivieres 8yo – Martinique - An elegant medium-weighted rhum with intricate layers of tropical fruit, ginger and ground pepper flavours.
- Diplomatica Riserva Exclusiva – Venezuela - A fabulous Venezuelan dark golden rum, distilled from molasses in a copper potstill before 12 years of ageing. Rich, sweet and fruity. Fantastic quality for the money, Diplomatico was awarded a Gold Medal at the 2007 Ministry of Rum Tasting Competition.
