What do you enjoy most about working with cigars?
I really enjoy working with cigars as they are my passion and I can share my personal opinion and knowledge with others by advising or showing them new and old cigars. It’s a rewarding sensation when my guest enjoys and appreciates my recommendation.
What first interested you in cigars?
I've been interested in cigars from my first involvement ten years ago. My interest peaked in the process required to create them and their unique taste and effect they have when you enjoy them.
Do you remember your first cigar?
My first cigar was a Hoyo de Monterrey Epicure No.2 and to this day is one of my favourites morning cigars.
What is the best piece of advice you have for someone just starting to smoke cigars?
At The Wellesley, we have a lot of choice and even with a little budget of £20 to £30 you can start to try different brands, sizes and also a few of our Limited Edition cigars.
What are your favorite three cigars?
Partagas Series E No.2, Cohiba siglo VI, Hoyo de Monterrey Epicures Especial
Has becoming a Master in Havana Cigars helped you in your profession?
Of course. It’s helped me a lot because I now have a better knowledge and a real understanding of the history and processes involved, which I can share with others.
