What do you enjoy most about working with cigars?
If you are working with cigars I feel that is easier to maintain decent relationship between us and our clients than generally in hospitality. I reckon this is a very unique business in terms of product knowledge and trust.
What first interested you in cigars?
Personally first time I came across cigars was in 2009 and straight away I realised my interest and future possibilities were among cigars lovers. I started enjoying Habanos slowly but still assuming that the learning process takes a life time.
Do you remember your first cigar?
Oh yeah my first ever stick was a Siglo II.
What is the best piece of advice you have for someone just starting to smoke cigars?
First of all always take your time with cigars! It is not something that you going into in when you are rushing somewhere. Also Patience. I can guarantee that it is a long journey to train your palate and to be able to appreciate every bit of Hand rolled Cuban product. Although trust always in trusted Habanos retailers otherwise your experience could be ruined with some non genuine product.
What are your favorite three cigars?
Not easy because if is changing every each year. Vegas Robaina Unicos, Partagas 898 Vintage 1999, Hoyo de Monterrey Double Corona Vintage 1996.
Has becoming a Master in Havana Cigars helped you in your profession?
Absolutely!I just can't recommend it enough. By the way the exam itself is not easy but definitely fun and obviously challenging. Without a doubt it gave me better understanding of the products, history and the background.
